Just a thought!!!!

A conversation was going on in a room…..

1st person: Did you get it?

2nd person: No sir, not till now. But sir are you sure that Panda sir told to search in this room??

1st : Yes, he told me in here only. But I have sent Rambabu to file room and Hariya to check in Panda sir’s office.

…..Hariya and Rambabu enter the room

Rambabu: Sir, kuch nahin mila!!! (I did not get anything)

1st: What about you Hariya??

Hariya: Same here..

2nd : Toh gaya kahan??? (where has it gone??)

1st: Let me inform Panda sir, he will take care of it. He told me it should be in this area only…..

Hold on! Hold on! Hold on! Guys, I am no Shakespeare at work. And also this is no CID shooting scene or Agatha Cristies extract. This is just a scene in every “government” office just before Independence Day. They all were searching the “national day celebration box”……… Amused what it might contain???? So let me reveal that it’s no Pandora Box, but just a small tin box containing enough material for a national day celebration in any government organization. The main content of this box is ofcourse the “ National Flag”, a small folded cloth that holds no meaning to those guys any day apart from the national days. Yeah it also has a rope for hoisting the flag, a 1970’s “Desh Bhakti “ cassette (preferably Manoj Kumar’s), etc. This box shows what it means to people of our government as “celebrating” a National Day ……

Celebrating, I would say, is too big a term for these kind of activities. It is just that they are fulfilling their duties (just like any other day) on the order of their seniors. Celebration is defined the way we celebrate the pujas( may it be Ganesh Puja or Durga Puja) or Holi or DIwali. The national day “celebration” is just one example of a Oxymoron. For every Indian now (agree or not) these national days i.e. I-Day, R-Day, Gandhi Jayanti, have just become yet another “holiday” where working people enjoy a day out from the normal work and students (like me) sleep an xtra hour or two…… At least this is the case from my point of view and what I have observed….

So come on Indians (everyone who think he is) show some passion and zeal on the national days( at least a fake one, which we are expert at!!) ….. Take a pledge that u will celebrate the next national day when it comes (coming soon!!!!) otherwise the national days may be converted to working days( which NIT Rourkela Dictator err Director will accept gleefully) .
