NITREE-10--> Part 1

Welcome all. I am going to present a series of papers on the focal theme “Engineering at NITR” in the next few posts. The papers have been written based on my own experience and also some research done by the latest Er. of NITR….. The papers have been presented in the community of NITREETEN ….

Date: 15-05-10

Paper No.-1

Topic: Some critical terms definition, their explanation and their importance at NITR.

Abstract: This paper defines many commonly used terms inside the class room or during the course of stay at NITR. Some of the terms are still being researched by some great Engineers that NITR produced very recently. But the basic definition remains the same and this brings a insight to these terms.
Description: Some of the famously used words are as follows:
1- GPL: This term is the most commonly used in NITR or in fact in most of the Engineering Colleges. The genesis of this term is unknown but it is mostly used at NITR without hesitation. This can be defined as a “platform for showcasing your football or kick boxing skills outside the respective arena” and on the a#$ of some poor fellow . The main cause of this phenomena to take place is some one’s birthday or successful placement in a company. Though it is caused due to extreme pleasure for the success of the friends, some a#@ h$%es take this opportunity to take out their grudge on the person going through the GPL. And this is also contagious. Standing nearby this GPL and mocking at the person may lead to the transfer of this to you. Currently more research has been undertaken by two experts Er. G.R.Sahu and Er. Ch. S.Kumar. They are very experienced in this domain and wish to a pursue a career in this wherever they go.

2- GMAT: The origin of this term is at NITR ( as per the records found at NITR). While the definition is as its abbreviation stands for but characterizing a person with this term GMAT, is very subjective. Just like, if u tell a mad person that you are a MAD he does not accept it and on the other hand he accuses everyone else to be mad. Similar is the case with this term GMAT. It does not necessarily indicate only the geeks but rather some ulti-cool hunks may be termed as GMAT . Further research is on by two bright Engineers of NITR who are trying to prove each other position. They are Er.S.Singh and Er. S.R.Mishra.

3- ASSIGNMENT: Well this term came out into fore way back in the pre historic age. But Er. at NITR used it to find some unknown facts of the pre historic age when there were no XEROX or PHOTO COPIER machines. This is just a way to analyze how multiple “original looking” copies can be made from a single original copy manually with different handwritings and different colors. This is done to please the Professors who just like “raddi walas” are interested in collecting papers ( with something written on it) and selling it off to have a cup of tea in the canteen. This has been a very well established fact and hence no one is undertaking the research in this.

4- PLACEMENT: Well this is the only other day when you will find the NITR Engineers to be clean shaved, nicely dressed, properly combed hair and serious ( The other day I suppose would be their Wedding Day). From entering NITR till getting out , the sole aim that keeps them going is this day. And yeah the dressing sense starting from the tie to the shoes everything got to be perfect on this day for all the guys at NITR. For more details please read “The dressing sense on Placement Day: A Guide” written by one of our own engineer, Er. D.Acharya. He is also a famous Loreal brand ambassador :P :P.

5- CG: Well many people confuse this to be same as Cumulative Grade Point (CGP). But this is wrong ( For more on CGP please read the post “Nine Point Someone” ). But rather this CG stands for “CAT GOSTI” meaning the CAT GROUP. Well they don’t go running after cats and catching them but rather the CAT here refers to the prestigious MBA exam. These are specific group of people who rather delve into solving the CAT questions rather than concentrating on their engineering studies. The plethora of questions that arises in the mind is: What the Engineer would do by cracking CAT? If he had to do MBA then Why engineering? And so on. But this paper is not for those question but I would put some reference for the readers help. Please go through:
Why to chase the CAT like a DOG after Engineering? “ By Er.B.Samantray, present student of XLRI.

to be continued in the next paper……..

PS: This paper has been scanned with software like Viper, Cobra, Anaconda to name a few. The plagiarism rate has come to be 0%. Also please give respect to the researchers name given here. And a sincere request not to mind any part of the post.
